A TV series never looked so good

The Streets Have Arrived

I had the pleasure of seeing a theater group headed by a new comer, Lamont Carey, perform a powerful show called Laws Of The STREET. This was the highlight of performances I had a chance to see at the Page To The Stage Festival at the Kennedy Center. This group amazed us all at the Millennium Stage to the point that the entire audience gave a standing ovation for at least 3 minutes. I went to their site and they are producing some kind of TV series that is about the streets of Washington, DC. Take a look at this group and its director: www.lawsofthestreet.com

Welcome to  Washington, D.C where the  Laws Of The STREET can get you killed

I can hear the screams of a mother hovering over the body of her 15 year old son. I can still see the glaring eyes of friends from beneath the trees. I can hear the walkie-talkies of the cops' routine. I can hear the typing of the reporter's headline, "Possible Gang Killing".  This is not a warzone. This is a community comprised of individuals with limited means in every facet of their lives. By age 5, they learn how to navigate through disaster. Whether it is clinging to a Bible, alcohol, drugs, jobs, or each other, they learn how to succeed inside the horror. Or they die trying. Unfortunately too many die trying. This is what this show is about. These are individuals who feel the world is on their shoulders but they try to change their conditions. Most of them in this show chose the route with the most risk. So, they created the Laws Of The STREET in an effort to survive. You will either hate or love them but you will learn to understand them.

Sometimes it takes a little reality for you to learn a lot of
